Apron Pocket Tips

Choose pocket fabrics carefully! It’s always tempting to use contrasting fabric on apron pockets, but consider the effect: two noticeable shapes drawing the viewer’s eyes across the body at hip/stomach level.

For more flattering apron trim, cut and sew one pocket from contrasting fabric, and make the second to match or blend with the apron fabric. Or, sew one pocket only, making sure it’s on the side of the user’s dominant hand.

Remember Mary’s design rule: Whatever you trim is where people will look at you!
